For me, electrical work has always been more than wiring and circuits—it's been a calling.

My journey started at 14, working school breaks alongside my stepdad, who specialized in multifamily electrical projects. Those early mornings and long days on job sites sparked something in me: a love for the precision of the work, the logic of troubleshooting, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from lighting up someone's home for the first time.

While attending The Academy at Smith in Greensboro, I dove headfirst into the electrical trade program—splitting my days between classroom theory and real-world installations. I volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, wiring homes for families who needed a fresh start. That experience taught me something I still carry today: this work isn't just technical. It's personal. It changes lives.

I competed in SkillsUSA Electrical Wiring competitions and placed 1st regionally and statewide—twice. I even ranked 7th nationally. But more than the trophies, what stayed with me was a deep respect for the trade and a clear goal: to earn my North Carolina Electrical Contractor License.

It wasn't easy. It required over 8,000 hours in the field, years of study, and the grit to pass an exam with only a 30% pass rate. But when I finally earned it, it felt like my college degree—a hard-won symbol of persistence, faith, and purpose.

After 12 years working for other companies, I saw a gap in the industry. Too many contractors focused on volume over value, profit over people. I wanted to build something different—a company that brought honesty, reliability, and true craftsmanship back to the trade.

As a first-generation Asian American from a Montagnard family that immigrated from Vietnam, I carry my family's story with pride. My parents came to this country with little money and no English—but with unshakable determination. Watching them persevere taught me everything I know about hard work, faith, and humility.

Earning my North Carolina Unlimited Electrical Contractor License is one of my proudest achievements, but it's not the certificate that defines me.
